About Katherine
Katherine King is the founder of Intercom Strategies. For over six years, Katherine served as the head of internal communications at Etsy, expanding and redefining the function throughout Etsy's tremendous growth. In her time with Etsy, she acted as an advisor, coach, and confidant to the Executive Team and senior leadership, influencing the employee experience and guiding the direction of the business on key issues. She led the internal communications strategy for a range of matters, including acquisitions, executive changes, layoffs, elections, COVID-19, and global internal and external crises across social, political, and economic spheres. She also established robust internal comms practices at Etsy’s subsidiaries, Depop and Reverb, and supported these companies in navigating similar issues.
Prior to Etsy, Katherine was a dialogue strategist at Ogilvy. She developed brands' customer-facing tone of voice and trained frontline teams for clients including American Express, Gerber, Starbucks, and Southwest Airlines. Katherine started her career at Publicis driving global digital strategy for Vicks.
Katherine holds a B.A. from Dartmouth College.
